Audio/Visual Technician

OVERVIEW


The Audio/Visual Technician reports to the Associate Worship Pastor and utilizes a professional level of knowledge and experience in audio and video production to consistently achieve purposeful, well-planned and proficiently executed services. This role provides tactile oversight to the technical elements at First Baptist Church of Pinehurst to help set a course consistent with the vision of the Worship Pastor and wider church missions. This role helps train and develop volunteers church-wide at the direction of the Worship Pastor.


RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • • Assist with all aspects of broadcast and pre-produced video content for FBCP weekend services, ensuring successful capture, edit, delivery, streaming, and archiving of weekend services and messages each week.
  • • Grow the team by investing in and providing ongoing direction, training, and support to all volunteer team members.
  • • Serve as primary troubleshooting contact for audio, video, and lighting systems, including updating hardware, software, and equipment firmware; regularly cleaning and maintaining projectors and other equipment.
  • • Load programming content for services and events; direct services and events as needed.
  • • Diagnose and resolve complex audio, video, lighting, and network issues as assigned.
  • • Perform thorough soundchecks to ensure optimal in-house sound and monitor mixes with special attention to gain/volume settings, EQ, and all processing FX.
  • • Perform other duties as assigned by the Worship Pastor or Senior Pastor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS


Personal:

 

  • • Profess faith in Christ and display spiritual maturity in all speech and conduct.
  • • Affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
  • • Adhere to the Mission and Vision of FBC Pinehurst.


Professional:

 

  • • 3-5 years experience with expert-level familiarity with live and church audio production including (but not limited to):
  • • Digital and analog audio consoles
  • • In Ear Monitor (IEM) systems
  • • Multitrack playback with stems
  • • Experience and knowledge of livestreaming
  • • Cameras, broadcast video switching, and post-production editing equipment
  • • Cameras, lenses, tripods, cabling, etc in both broadcast and studio environments.
  • • Must have a good ear for diagnosing and correcting sound qualities and dynamics.


Leadership:

 

  • • Strong interpersonal skills to build and grow relationships with a variety of people at FBCP and throughout the community, resulting in a healthy team and worship culture.
  • • Strategic and organized in the planning and implementation of AVL systems and initiatives.
  • • Committed to building and training teams of volunteers.

 

HOURS

 

 

  • • Approximately 10-15 hours per week. On-site presence is required - must be available for Sunday Services: 7:15AM - 12:30PM and 5:15PM - 6:30PM , Wednesday Services: from 6:45PM to 8:00PM, and Band Rehearsal Thursday: 6:45PM - 8:00PM. Additional hours can be coordinated to your schedule and will be filled working on projects to enhance weekly services.
  • • Must make arrangements for appropriate substitutes from approved volunteer list when attendance is not possible.
  • • Be available for some additional special events, day, or evening, with ample notice.
