Purpose Behind Missions
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations (Matt 28:19)
In an effort to glorify God by obeying the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20), we have established a strategy to guide our Missions Committee as well as our individual mission teams. That strategy is to discover mission opportunities locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. We as a committee will share needs and opportunities with the Church, and serve the Church by establishing and conducting mission projects.
We believe that God has called all His children to share the gospel boldly, expecting Him to bring to faith those who hear the gospel, and to make disciples of those whom God saves. Specifically, we believe that FBC Pinehurst members are called to take the gospel to areas and to peoples who have little or no access to the gospel. Our goal is to make disciples while working to form indigenous local churches.
In summary, we will seek to follow Christ as He leads into areas of His world where we can carry the gospel for the purpose of making disciples, planting churches and strengthening existing churches.

Local Missions Involvement
FBC Pinehurst members are afforded numerous opportunities to become involved in taking the gospel outside the four walls of the church. In order to be considered for a position in Local Missions, a member will need to fulfill the Daily Missional requirements. Local Missions involvement may be short-term (missions events) or long-term (permanent ministries). They may include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Serving in our ministry to provide Blessing Bags to Senior Living Facilities.
- Partnering with TEEN Challenge of Sandhills.
- Serving with an FBC Pinehurst partner (Sandhills Baptist Association, Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Carthage Crisis Pregnancy Center, etc.).
- Serving our community as an ongoing example of missional living through Operation InAsMuch.
- Annual Trunk or Treat event.
- School adoption - meeting needs of teachers and students at West End Elementary.
- Other events or ministries within the Moore County area. We recognize that the Lord may open doors of ministry in Local Missions in addition to the ones listed above. Therefore, if God leads you to initiate or become involved in a local ministry not listed just contact the Missions Committee.
