Jonathan Shelor
Jonathan has been at First Baptist Church of Pinehurst since 2023. He has over15 years of experience leading churches in North and South Carolina, as well as Missouri. Jonathan earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Roanoke College , and his Master of Divinity in Christian Ministry and Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Leadership from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.
Jonathan and Katie have been married for 19 years and have been blessed with seven children (5 boys and 2 girls). Jonathan and Katie were both born and raised in Salem, VA, where they lived until Jonathan surrendered to the call of ministry.
They enjoy spending time outside together as a family, as well as going to the beach and hiking. Katie is a stay-at-home mom, and she homeschools all seven children. She graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. As a family, they stay involved in the community through their children’s activities.
The desire of Jonathan's heart is to lead the church to reach the community with the good news of Jesus Christ, and to help believers to see their lives as a mission field. Jonathan’s philosophy of ministry comes from Ephesians 4:12 “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ.”
Jonathan and Katie both love serving the Lord through the local church. They are excited about what God has in store and they believe the best is yet to come.
